I’m Catherine and I paint about love and loss, responding to my emotions and experiences of living with loss.

My work is deeply personal and I feel as if I’m creating an archive of feelings and memories within my paintings. I make honest, emotional portraits of my inner self, conversing with my grief and remembering a life much missed.

Nature has been an important source of nurture and comfort, as well as inspiration for much of my work. Nature constantly inspires me and I find meaning and healing within it.

I love the excitement of working with acrylics and mixed media and I spend many hours in my garden studio in Bramhall, a place of emotional freedom and repair.

I never truly know what will happen as I explore ideas and memories; I just know this is where I find the most peace.

I am a published poet and a member of Sharp Scratch writers. My writing is an integral part of my creative process, and I exhibit poems and paintings together.
